Internet Marketing: Why Are Residential Proxies Important

It is pretty tricky for a modern business to survive without an Internet presence in challenging market competition. Often, online sales of goods and services exceed offline sales by several times, and users are accustomed to finding products and services they are interested in without leaving their favorite social network.

Why are Proxies Required in Marketing?

Automation helps to reduce the time spent on working with routine processes in Internet marketing. Two-thirds of the main resource-intensive processes can be automated. This will save a lot of time. But there is one problem: 40% of all actions on the Internet are performed by non-live users.

Owners of online services, social networks, and search engines fight this by revealing the facts and severely punishing violators, most often without the right to appeal. Think how often you have entered captcha in Google search or on some other sites.

So, residential proxies will help you bypass any locks, bans, automate routine operations, presenting automation as actions of "real" users. Proxy is a “magic pill” just for such cases.

If we talk about the use of residential proxies directly in Internet marketing, there is an endless variety of options for developing events. I will give the most vivid and illustrative examples for those who come across such information for the first time.

Use of PPC Proxies and SEO Specialists

Proxies can collect semantics from resources and then take off positions for specific key queries in search results. A tool like Key Collector, actively used by SEO and PPC specialists, uses residential proxies to bypass search engine blocking.

If you try to collect semantics and positions by hand, even for the smallest projects, it may take a little bit more than forever. Using automation and the specified software, you can complete the work in less than an hour.

Use of SMM Proxies by Specialists

Proxies are also actively used by SMM specialists to work with automation services in social networks. There is no SMM without a proxy. The main task for which residential proxies are used is to secure the account from getting banned on social networks.

For example, an automatic posting service, a mass following service, and a direct mailing service are simultaneously connected to your account. Each of these services has its IP and Geo by default.

If you do not use a proxy at the very first activity of these services, you will receive a blocking of actions in your account or, even worse, a lifetime ban. In this case, the support of social networks will not even talk to you. And you can forget about your account.

Using Proxies for Analytics

When we talk about traditional marketing, residential proxies are used for analytics. For example, the task is to identify a particular group of people on the site and count them as a percentage.

It should be borne in mind that a marketer-analyst also fits a specific group of users, and the more often he visits the analyzed site, the more he distorts the statistics.

In order not to spoil the data in the sample, every time you enter the site, you can use a proxy with a radically different Geo, for example, a proxy with Geo from one of the European countries, whose residents are certainly not interested in your goods and services.

Using a Proxy to Parse Data

Another marketing task you may face is collecting a database of contacts, phone numbers, email addresses from such directory services using special data parsers. At the time of their work, there is a constant substitution of addresses not to catch blocking by IP.

Parsers make hundreds of times more calls to the service than ordinary users can to collect data. Working with parsers takes hundreds and thousands of times less time than collecting such a database manually if you collect contacts by broad match.

As you can see, residential proxies are widely used in Internet marketing, and I have listed only a small part of the possible scenarios for their use. You will have to decide on the issue of free or paid proxies or use the service for the selection and sale of proxies on the Internet.
