Hail The Heroes Behind The App Developing Process

‘Applications' have always enjoyed a kingly position. However, the real heroes, behind the screens, are the developers.

Applications; one word of 12 characters is changing the way this world looks at itself. But like most things, what is in the limelight is what is visible. The fully made, composed apps, ready to be installed and used, is what you get to see, as a user. But what goes on before the packaged app is launched on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, is a wondrous quest every developer has gone through.

What the life of a developer must be like, you might be wondering. Well it is a life full of learning, having new experiences, testing their own capacities, rising beyond expectations and by doing all this; creating an app.

Their time in the office is spend nurturing a single project time and again until it is ripe enough to be delivered as an app. Every kick-ass app created leaves behind it a trail that marks its creation. Enthusiastic developers always share and the article, as it follows, comes straight from their experience. A single conversation with the vibrant developers gave us all the answers of how a mere idea turns out to be a wondrous app.

How Do Developers Breathe Life Into The Apps They Create?

Once the client’s requirement reaches the Project Manager, along with the developers, they discuss and decide the feasibility or the practicality of the project in hand. If the idea seems to be practical, then comes the actual initialization of the project. The first step in this journey comes with the designing of the navigational flow. This very process includes multiple stages from napkin drawing to using extensive wire-frames for a better understanding.

Prototypes of the app are then tested for any bugs. Post this comes the actual development of the app. Step after step, when the app starts to come together, it is checked for problems and bugs by the Quality Assurance team and their hawk-like eyes. Taking the assent from clients on every stage is mandatory too.

Which Resources Do The Developers Bank On, As And When The Need Arises?

Developers are superhumans with brilliance in every ounce of their brains. However, even heroes like Harry Potter need the guidance of Dumbledore. The same way there are times when the developers need a Gandalf or master Oogway of their own. When such a situation arises, the first person to come to their aid is the Project Manager. And alongside they visit these websites and figure out the solution:

StackOverFlow

Github

Cocoa Controls

Cocoapods

Apple Technical Doc

There are many other websites that help developers as well and their ranking in importance keeps on changing based on the kind of work that needs to be done.

What Tools Do The Developers Use, While Developing An App?

With the increase in the needs and usage of apps there is an increase in the availability of tools, which make the app making process easier. These tools change based on the Operating System (OS) on which this app will be launched. Below mentioned are the tools and the categories in which they are used.

Does The Work Of The Developer End When The App Is Created?

Once the app is created it is believed that the work of a developer is done and over with. No it isn’t. A developer sticks to the app till the very end. What this end is, depends on the the instructions given by the clients. And yet there are a few processes that need to be done by the developer.

Below are a few of these.

Keep a check on the app in case of bugs that may be. This process goes on until a satisfactory response is given by the PM or the client.

Sometimes, the responsibility of uploading the app on iTunes or app store or google play stands with the developer. This includes, creating certificates of app for development and distribution. The developer must also fill the details about the app concerned like; description, videos, screenshots, privacy policy etc, while uploading the app.

Depending on the decision made by the client, a developer might as well have to work with newer versions of the apps or in adding features to the app as and when required. The real heroes are the ones who work in the backstage without even making an appearance on the well-light stage.

In this case when the app takes all the credit, it is actually the developers one needs to thank and look out for. Here were some secrets, straight from the developers that in turn constitutes an app.
