Hoxton Half Marathon

Hoxton Half Marathon

Digital Doughnut has combined forces with our great friends at THE CRM Agency to bring you the Hoxton Half Marathon and we’d like you to join us on the afternoon and evening of Thursday 21st of September. You’ll be touring Hoxton, locating 13 Hoxton pubs (half marathon, see what we did there?!), solving devious Treasure Hunt clues and gathering a list of daft items.

Exercise Your Inner Monster! No Running Required

Join the Hoxton Half Marathon; for an opportunity to collect magic potions, level up and unleash your inner hero.

Digital Doughnut has combined forces with our great friends at THE CRM Agency to bring you the Hoxton Half Marathon and we’d like you to join us on the afternoon and evening of Thursday 21st September. You’ll be touring Hoxton, locating 13 Hoxton pubs (half marathon, see what we did there?!), solving devious Treasure Hunt clues and gathering a list of daft items.

Why? Well, it’s all in aid of the absolutely brilliant work of Hoxton’s own Ministry of Stories who provide the children and young people of East London with FREE creative writing workshops. Their work is part-funded by their fantastical shop Hoxton Street Monster Supplies but we want to help them raise loads more.

We’ll be visiting Hoxton Street Monster Supplies on the day (watch out for their invisible cat!) but don’t forget to stock up on brain food in advance which, of course, is made with bits of real brain.

Sound like your kind of thing? then get fundraising (raising £200 or more per team would be monster!). And please let us know if you want to be a named sponsor on the T-shirts.

Your team can be 1 to 6 people and - for the low entry fee of £15 per person - you each get a unique Hoxton Half Marathon 2017 T-shirt to wear with pride for ever more. Or at least until it gets a bit shabby and you have some DIY to do.

The Ministry's Mission

At the Ministry of Stories, we believe the best way for children to gather skills and realise their potential is by discovering the joy and craft of stories, and developing their imaginations.

Writing enhances self-respect, improves communication – and can transform lives. That’s why we develop imaginative spaces and communities dedicated to championing the writer in every child.

The Ministry of Stories is a local writing and mentoring centre based in Hoxton Street, east London, where anyone aged eight to 18 can come and discover their own gift for writing.

What we do

Through a range of innovative writing programmes, and one-to-one mentoring, we help young people discover and realise their own creative potential.

We build confidence, self-respect and communication skills in both workshops for schools and out-of-school writing clubs.

Then we provide a publishing platform for young writers, so these fresh, exciting voices are shared with the world.

It’s rewarding work. But it’s not easy. We depend on the whole community for their support, including a network of more than 500 dedicated volunteers.

By making writing fun and accessible we help young people find their voices.

We challenge expectations and aspirations, and act as a kindling to the flame, nurturing development, teaching skills and nourishing imaginations.

The Hoxton Half Marathon will begin at Zigfrid Von Underbelly, 11 Hoxton Square, London, N1 6NU.

Tickets cost £10+ Booking Fee & VAT
