Andy Wood is Chairman at GI Insight (part of Go Inspire Group), a company that provides a complete approach to data marketing, covering database build, loyalty programmes, analysis, strategy, campaign execution and fulfilment. Andy has spent over 20 years in the data marketing filed and has vast experience in the creation and management of retail loyalty schemes. His particular skills lie in the analysis of transactional and other data to better understand consumer behaviour, improve marketing communications, build customer relationships, increase turnover and, ultimately, boost profits. A graduate in marketing of Birmingham Polytechnic, Andy started out developing the customer database for a niche retailer before moving onto a data marketing company, where he was heavily involved in providing marketing analysis and consultancy for loyalty scheme clients. He then went on to found GI Insight, where he has developed loyalty and database marketing programmes since 2000. Andy has created and managed more retail loyalty schemes than anyone in the UK and boasts a list of past and present clients that include Pets at Home, Toys R Us, Bonmarché, American Golf and Homebase. Andy established himself as an expert in ‘Big Data’ before anyone even knew what that term meant. He is a frequent commentator, authoring numerous papers as well as blogs and articles published in the media, including the marketing, CRM, technology, retail, and travel and hospitality press. He has also frequently presented at conferences and seminars, addressing loyalty marketing and data analysis.
