How to Start an Effective Digital Marketing Campaign With Low Budget

There are different marketing methods that companies and organisations, both big and small, can use to promote what they have to offer: a new product or service, an idea, just about anything under the sun. One of the most efficient, though, has got to be digital marketing.

After all, most of us are frequently glued to our screens with the proliferation of various digital devices.

Because of this efficiency, though, expert digital marketers can sometimes offer their services at a steep price. What can we say? They get the work done and deliver very positive results. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t get the same outcome with your own efforts while working on a limited budget. In fact, that’s what we are going to talk about in this article.

Make Money Online

We live in a modern age. The internet has opened opportunities for us to get information on the fly, learn new skills, buy products and make reservations, and of course, to start our own businesses in the comforts of our own home. The only challenge is learning the fundamentals of how to make money online. For instance, you can get an online shop made and have your own website, true, but you’ll never sell anything if your target market doesn’t even know that your shop exists! This is where digital marketing comes into play. It is a marketing method that seeks to increase your online presence and reputation.

There are different digital marketing tools and strategies that professional marketers use in their campaigns. Fortunately, there are a lot of them that we can actually do ourselves. Having said that, here are the steps that you can take in order to launch your own digital marketing campaign along with the top techniques that we recommend based on their effectiveness:

Plot your campaign strategy

What do you seek to accomplish from this campaign? Do you want to improve your online visibility in search results? Do you want to increase leads and conversion? How about strengthening the loyalty of your current clients? Knowing the why behind the campaign will help you later on in deciding which tools and platforms to use.

Aside from your objective or goal, you also want to define the resources that you can use. Do you have time to launch and monitor your digital marketing campaigns? How much time can you allot to it per day?

Start small

Digital marketing is very promising, hence it can be easy to get carried away. However, we highly recommend restraint, especially if you're still fairly new to the craft. Digital marketing isn't a skill that you can learn overnight, nor even after a short course on it. It takes time and experience to master.  Don't overwhelm yourself with multiple tools and tasks at a time. You'll probably find yourself stretched too thin anyway, and you won't be able to make the most out of all your digital arsenal if you bite more than you can chew. Instead, try to focus on a few tools that you are already familiar with and devote all of your efforts on them. This, we believe, is the best way to get solid measurable results.

Invest in good content

If you want to improve your online visibility, then improving your content is the way to go. You see, the best way of getting your website noticed is still to invest in content that is easy-to-read, relevant, and accurate. Don’t just write articles. Mix in other media in there two. Use gifs, infographics, videos.

Sure, there are a lot of SEO tools and techniques out there that you can use in order to improve your website's ranking in search results. However, keep in mind that even if they do bring more online visitors to your page, you're still going to lose them if you don't offer them anything of value. This, in turn, will lower your rank even more and do more damage rather than help.

Offer something for free

This is a tip that is often used by email marketers. They recommend offering something of value in exchange for an online visitor’s email. This allows them to send newsletters, updates, and more, improving the reach of their content and leveraging it to convert online visitors into leads and later on, into paying customers.

This freebie can be anything: an eBook, a worksheet, a printable, preferably something that you can make one time and offer infinitely, through a digital medium. Once you do get these email addresses, make sure to only send them valuable and quality content as always, and that your emails are in compliance with the CAN-SPAM act, in order to avoid any reports and complaints down the line.

Take advantage of social media

Want to strengthen the loyalty of your current clients? Then boost your engagement! Talk to them through social media. Interact with them. Respond promptly to their comments and questions. Personalize your responses. After all, it will cost you nothing other than time to do this.

Here's a pro tip

The secret in social media marketing is timing. You need to plan your posts in advance and schedule their posting times when your target audience is more likely online. For instance, if you want your social media posts to be visible to students, then you might want to post during weekends instead of weekdays, and during late in the afternoon instead of posting early in the morning.
