How to Boost Instagram Engagement in 2020

Social media is an excellent way to be visible to your target audience. For example if you are running an online leather jacket store’s Instagram or you are an influencer like Kylie Jenner, your goal would be keeping the audience engaged with your posts. As we know, Instagram engagement is declining because of competitors like Tiktok. So in this article, I will tell 10 simple steps to increase engagement.

1. Stop Posting Boring Content

Everyone uses Instagram for fun. Don't ruin your audience's scrolling with your boring content. When influencers start getting many promotional offers, they begin sponsored posts daily. And if the business account only posts about their products, their engagement will decrease. I suggest you post about humor make funny pictures which connects your product so your audience will react to it.

2. Respond to Comments ASAP

Whenever you receive a comment on Instagram, like and reply to it as soon as possible. Use emojis in the comment section according to your response, and you answer humorously too. You can check out Netflix's Instagram response to comment in the above picture.

3. Get Competitors to Engage with Your Account

Check out the last post of your competitor's Instagram and leave a positive comment. It can get you engaged followers to your account.

4. Captions are Soul of the Post

Good captions can make your audience to spend more time on the post. Tell stories in the description of your post whether they are short or long they should make the picture or video more interesting.

5. Start a Giveaway Contest

Start a giveaway contest where you should give a gift to the winner. Many brands do that. It is costly, but effective. It can provide you benefits in the long term your audience will always check out your profile for next contest.

6. GIFs are better than Video and Images

As we know moving objects catches our eye more. But we know many people skip videos in Instagram feed because they are time consuming but GIFs are moving objects but they don’t consume  time.

7. Make Your Own Posting Schedule

Many blogs show you visually with graphs which time you will get more engagements. But I will advise you to do experiments by posting at different times you get to know your traffic and perfect posting time.

8. Make Your Feed Visually Appealing With Filters

Use the same filters in all your posts to give your profile a unique identity. It will provide an aesthetic look to your account for visitors.

9. Keep an Eye on your DMs

When you get a message on Instagram, reply to it as soon as possible. Don't respond with your premade template. It will make other person think he got a reply from the bot. And keep an eye on DM requests many messages go in requests.

10. Direct your Instagram Followers to your Website in a Smart way

Mostly people watch stories if they like it, the most they will do is react to it. But you can add a link to your website. Just upload an attractive Instagram story and add a link to your site in it, which can be easily clickable as your story visitor will get an option of "swipe up."

There is no doubt Instagram marketing is hard. Because of its low conversion rate. So it is time to follow our tactics with the mixture of your experiments. And being patient is the key to social media marketing success. Let us know in the comment section how useful these tips have been.
