7 Tips To Optimize Your E-store Product Pages

Learn how to optimize your product pages for a bigger revenue. In this article you’ll know what really matters when designing a product page

Can you say that your e-store is distinct enough to stand out among your competitors? Do your product pages convert plenty of visitors into your buyers?

If the answers are “haven’t thought about this” or ”not sure enough” you have knocked at the right door.

In the article below, we are going to outline some of the most effective practices that are able to boost traffic and conversions of your web store.

  1. What Really Matters

  2. Show your Product

  3. Proper Description Is the Key

  4. Trust Signals

  5. Communicate With Your Clients

  6. Keep your Site Mobile Friendly

  7. Let Them Share

What Really Matters

These are four basic things you should consider when designing your product pages:

Product itself as this is what actually attracts consumers to your e-store;

Your brand, which must be associated with a good shopping experience for the buyer;

Product description, making the client understand he is in need of what you sell;

Design and user experience, accompanying your client from the image of the product to the very check out.

Show your Product

There is no doubt that high-quality resolution images attract more customers. However, we advise to go further and:

  • Demonstrate the product from different angles;

  • Provide a consumer with a zoom to see the details;

  • If possible, embed a promo video or a GIF image.

Having good description photos or videos, you should not forget about fast load speed, as its absence can become a serious obstacle in engaging more clientele. Also, remember that images on your website must not differ greatly from those taken by your customers after sale if they decide to attach some to a review.

Show the product both individually and together with other accessories. It is easier for a buyer to perceive the picture as a whole. Either it can stimulate a buyer to purchase something else from your store.

Proper Description Is the Key

Give a detailed description of an item as possible. Predict possible questions, and give sufficient answers to them in the product synopsis.

Sometimes a vendor is sure that an average customer knows and understands the product as much as he does, but it rarely happens like that. Do not assign your client an extra task to understand who you are in the marketplace and what you offer. Do you best to describe the product you sell so that even a ten-year-old can realize in less than a few seconds what you offer. Put more care and energy into creating an easy-to-read and comprehendible description with a clear structure.

A buyer needs to quickly find the answer to what problem is solved or how his life can become better by purchasing the things you sell.

Trust Signals

As social proof is of great importance and especially for young brands, make sure the following features that inspire trust in the mind of your potential client, are presented on your web store:

  • Reviews, as more than 90% of consumers at least look them through to make sure, if it is worth keeping on with the shopping on your website;

  • Five star rating, which shows other people’s experience with your web store;

  • Wishlist, even for those who do not want to create an account or log in;

  • How many items sold, showing how popular and trustworthy a certain product is;

  • Shipping rate and time with various delivery options;

  • Whether the product is in stock or when it is going to get back again.

Communicate With Your Clients

Embed a live-chat feature in your e-store. No one ever calls for various reasons, but online visitors do not normally hesitate to text and particularly if they see somebody to be online on your side. Either emails or contact forms telling something like “we will contact you as soon as possible” are no longer working. Not so many want to supply you with their email addresses to get spam in the future.

So, live chat feature gets popularity among customers whether they want to be given additional product information, ask for a discount or simply make sure the item is still in stock.

It would be great if you could provide multi-language support in the live chat, especially if you ship worldwide. Built-in auto chat translation functionality helps an online retailer meet the needs of international customers.

Mobile Friendly

Readable texts and easy one thumb navigation on mobile devices are crucial. It goes without saying as the number of mobile users is greatly increasing. According to Statista this tendency has made merchants design their web stores to work correctly on all mobile devices.

Let Them Share

Integrate social media share and Facebook like buttons. Do not hide them or make them too small for an eye to catch. Make sharing of the individual product or the whole page as easy as possible. As a result, visitors will promote your brand on their social networks and give your business a new boost to be more familiar among potential clientele.
