BIMA Conference: Speakers Announced for Lessons from the Future - 18 September 2019

The inaugural BIMA Conference takes place on September 18th. Lessons from the Future is the theme, and the first five speakers announced for the event are set to make good on the conference’s aim of exploring the future of our industry.

Cindy Rose is Microsoft UK CEO & Corporate Vice President, responsible for all Microsoft’s product, service and support offerings across the UK. The former Vodafone UK MD and Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media is also a Non-Executive Director of advertising and media giant WPP.

At NASA, Dr Anita Sengupta helped develop the supersonic parachute that landed the Curiosity rover on Mars. She led development of the Virgin Hyperloop and is now Co-Founder and Corporate Officer at ASX where she develops mobility solutions for smart cities that eliminate congestion and reduce the carbon footprint of air travel.

Nell Watson is a Machine Intelligence engineer who helped pioneer Deep Machine Vision at her company QuantaCorp and, as Vice-Chairman of the IEEE P7001 Committee, is leading the creation of new safety standards for autonomous systems.

Jamie Bartlett is widely regarded as one of the world's foremost experts analysing the intersection between technology and politics. His latest book, The People Vs Tech, explains how tech is undermining democracies around the world and explores what we can do to stop this trend. His TED Talk on the dark web has garnered over 5 million views.

Max Amordeluso is the Lead Evangelist for Amazon Alexa in Europe. His main mission is to introduce Alexa to European developers and demonstrate how they can build natural and delightful voice experiences for customers. Max also led Amazon’s Solutions Architects team in Europe and brought the Alexa Skills Kit to the UK and Germany.

Speaking about the line-up, BIMA Managing Director Holly Hall said, “For the first BIMA Conference we wanted to give our members and the tech community a series of keynote presentations that deliver something genuinely enlightening and inspiring to accompany what’s set to be a memorable day of practical masterclasses and insight. I’m delighted that we’re finally able to let the cat out of the bag with this incredible quintet of speakers, and I can’t wait to hear what they have to say.”
