Earned Web Traffic Sources That Can Drive More Traffic To Your Online Business…

Yes, there are some simple earned web traffic sources that can really drive more traffic to your online business, and not just today, but every day!

Yes, there are some simple earned web traffic sources that can really drive more traffic to your online business, and not just today, but every day!

Internet marketing is not all about lowering your Facebook advertising budget. As a matter of fact, most people are throwing their money away there, to be honest.

What is earned web traffic? Well, earned traffic is traffic that comes through some of the best and most simple to do internet marketing strategies and tactics that are basically, well, free to implement, and can be extremely evergreen in nature.

Here, let’s look at a few of them and how they can work for you over the long haul making your efforts of generating more money all that much easier…

Earned web traffic sources work.

The 80/20 Rule (I like the way Stark used it for blogging) is the assumption that most of the results in any situation are determined by a small number of causes.

Basically and simply put, that if you really sit your butt down for a while and create some great content, not a ton, but some great content, that 80% of your income potential with your online business will be a result of that small amount of time you dedicated to creating ‘said‘ quality content.

But, when it comes to you, the new online entrepreneur and dreamer here, what are these so-called ’causes’ and, well, do they really work to drive high-quality traffic to your website and it’s products or services every single day?

Well, the answer is YES, they can and do!

And, will they take a lot of work?

Once again, the answer is a yes, but not as much work as you might have been led to believe!

So, let’s look at the most popular and well used ‘earned traffic sources‘ by most successful online entrepreneurs today, and this includes me.

Blogging.

Here are some facts first, just so you know that over the long-haul, blogging still matters, even now as it grows in importance to online business owners and their traffic generation and conversion efforts.

Here they are.

Impact of blogging:

  • 85% of bloggers claim their blog delivers strong results or some results.
  • 49% claim that spending more than 3 hours per post shows bigger payoffs.
  • Longer blog posts produce better results.
  • 67% of bloggers claim they see strong results when they blog weekly or daily.
  • Old blog posts are 74% more likely to yield good results.

Trends in blogging.

  • The average blog post length is 1142 words.
  • List posts are the most popular blog post format among business blogs.
  • Using social media to promote content is the most popular tactic.
  • An increasing number of bloggers are collaborating with influencers (1 in 4).
  • 72% use SEO in their content marketing strategy and incorporating video or podcast.

I love blogging, just so you know, it really is one of my favorite (if not my most favorite) platforms and strategies for generating and converting traffic online today. Yes, today!

Even after a decade of being here blogging is still one of my top three ways to create authority and build a solid brand around.

I know that many, many folks today try to avoid the effort and work it takes to build a truly successful online business, but when it comes down to it, using some of the best evergreen marketing practices like blogging can make that success a reality as it has for most entrepreneurs here.

Blogging does take some time. And when you are starting out here, most of your effort and time will be spent in and on your blog!

But, I will tell you this, when you get ahead of the game and start seeing a regular flow of traffic because of it, and you start to feel the effects of that authority being built from it, you can start to ease a bit and create content every other week instead of weekly or daily.

No, I am not saying to slack off on your blogging, what I am saying is that you can start to take your time creating even more quality content all the while, spending less time on your blogging efforts.

A blog is one of the most popular ways to earn a ton of free traffic today. When it comes to most online business models and niches, you can’t just simply set up and get away with running Facebook ads, you need to generate more than cheap uninterested traffic, you need to build the following:

  • Know
  • Like
  • And Trust

That is what it takes to build the kind of audience that turns into a customer base that keeps your business growing and thriving.

Video.

There was a day about 10 years ago when video marketing saved me, seriously, it saved my online business, and I mean this one!

Google made a change, a massive one without warning us and the very next day I was gone, along with millions and millions of other folks, their online business was dead because their websites, blogs, and funnel pages were gone!

But, not me, I did videos!

Videos, and I mean YouTube saved me that day as I was still being found on what would soon be the second largest search engine on the planet.

Here are a few or more facts about the importance of video;

  • By 2019, global consumer Internet video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer Internet traffic
  • Facebook generates 8 billion video views on average per day
  • YouTube reports mobile video consumption rises 100% every year
  • 55% of people watch videos online every day
  • 92% of mobile video consumers share videos with others
  • 90% of users say that product videos are helpful in the decision process
  • Social video generates 1200% more shares than text and images combined
  • Video posts on Facebook have 135% greater organic reach than photo posts
  • After watching a video, 64% of users are more likely to buy a product online

See, video matter, and it matters a ton. Today’s savvy online business owners, the successful one’s today, we use video as part of our overall content marketing and search marketing practices. This is a multimedia experience that can truly generate traffic, and convert it.

Video also has a better and more unique way to build the one thing we all need here, and that is our personal brand behind the business! Personal branding really can make a difference in your earned traffic conversion, trust me on that one…

Podcasting.

I am a fan of podcasts, I really do like them and plan on having one soon on another blog of mine.

Is this an alternative to video? Well, I would hope not because of the power of video. However, there are those, maybe like yourself who are really skeptical about being on video or doing video.

If that is you, then yes, podcasting is a great alternative to add that multimedia experience, as a matter of fact, here are some facts about it:

  • There are about 30 million active blogs on the Internet, but only about 200,000 active podcasts.
  • Only 6% of all marketers are using podcasting as a form of content.
  • Podcast listeners consume more than 105 minutes of audio per day than the average American.
  • They spend more than 25 percent of that total audio time listening to podcasts.
  • About 15% of Americans listen to a podcast at least once a month.
  • 33% of Americans they’ve listened to a podcast before.
  • 1 in 5 Americans prioritizes listening to a podcast in their busy schedules.
  • Podcasts reach an equal number of men as women and are most popular with the 18-54 age group.
  • 88% of podcast subscribers listen to every episode.

Podcasting is a perfect way to build a great brand, and create that type of multimedia web content that attracts new traffic to your website and blog, and, of course, your products, services, or opportunity!

Podcasting, if you are a bit nervous about doing video start one of these today, and watch what happens tomorrow.

Webinars.

Webinars work for not only generating new traffic, but it can really help you to convert that traffic into customers and what some here call; ‘a brand evangelist.”

The wonderful thing about webinars is that you can use them to entice new subscribers through creating a webinar event and properly promoting it, or basically, pre-selling it.

The other wonderful thing about webinars is how you and I can use them to convert those new eyeballs! Literally, you and I can do follow up webinars here and there to continue to build that personal brand, and the know, like, and trust that goes with it.

I personally enjoy webinars for one other simple reason, it gives me a chance to meet you in person…

Facebook Live.

I do them these days twice a week. Facebook live is a great way to gin up some web traffic fast.

While some get caught up in trying to manage some Facebook group and lose the very free time they were trying to gain with their online business, it is simpler and more effective to spend one hour a week doing a couple FB Live streams.

80% of content consumption online will soon be, and most likely is right now video, and yes, a blog is a part of that mix as many smart online business owners add video to their posts.

Anyhow, Facebook Live is something I truly do promote through my own coaching program here. Reasons being are:

  • Facebook has 2 Billion daily active users
  • 40% of Facebook users have never liked a page or been part of a group
  • People spend up to 34 minutes a day on Facebook
  • People are 5x more likely to watch FB Live on their smartphone
  • Most engagement will happen in the first 45 seconds of that FB Live video
  • Facebook videos get close to 8 Billion views per day

That last one is a reason to be doing videos on Facebook and YouTube to boot as that platform itself gets twice as much or more views per day.

Facebook Live can not only better your web traffic, but it is also fast as you can run them as a beginner here on your personal profile and eventually move to your page as those interested begin to regularly watch.

Evergreen content matters.

Responsive, basically considered shorter content is fine. Matter of fact, I believe responsive content is the majority of the type of content we create in our blogs.

But, it is the evergreen type of content that truly generates a better and more qualified traffic source online today.

What is evergreen content?

Evergreen content is content that is always relevant—much like the way evergreen trees retain their leaves all year around. As someone from the land of evergreen, this makes a ton of sense!

Every third or fourth blog post and video or podcast to go with it should be a long-form evergreen piece of content.

Why does this work so well? Well, here is the simple answer to that;

  • The majority of blog posts published are 500 words or shorter. You can stand out in the noise by putting an extra 1500 words worth of work.
  • Longer articles generate business leads for a longer time-frame. This is because they attract backlinks and organic traffic from Google timelessly, organically making it evergreen content.
  • You’re perceived as an authority in your industry. Your audience appreciates comprehensive posts that delve into intricacies of their pain points. They won’t need to jump on 10 different websites to get the same information.
  • Evergreen content is sustainable. You can launch a marketing campaign solely by repurposing these epic content pieces.

That last one kills me, in a good way! Seriously, I have literally launched a small but highly successful campaign a couple of times to generate a great stream of affiliate income based off of one evergreen piece of content.

Want some great and lasting web traffic for free? Look no further than sitting your butt down for a short period of time and creating some evergreen content today!

Web traffic, and many voices.

I know, I am part of the noise I believe some days. But, I try to stand out, and I do most of the time. See, there are many, many voices online today trying to share web traffic generation tips.

However, while some of these voices are great and should be trusted, many more are not, and should not be trusted to be honest. I thought that one-day things would settle down here, that the hyperbole would soften a bit at least.

Not so, not even close. As a matter of fact, people are losing more time and money today on things like Facebook advertising courses and the advertising itself after listening to the person in the courses!

Free web traffic is generated by creating great content, short and responsive content or, evergreen types of content. Either way, it is through a solid effort of creating valuable content that people really want here.

So, if I were you, instead of falling for the fast traffic voices, I would do what successful online business owners and entrepreneurs are actually doing here, creating great content!
