Biggest Search Algorithm Updates Of 2018

The end and beginning of each year is a time when SEO specialists typically take a step back and evaluate how much the search engine algorithms have changed throughout the past 12 months and what they can do to shape their future game plan.

The common truth surrounding Google is that they are notoriously hush-hush about what exactly goes into their search ranking algorithms. Moreover, these changes usually take effect without warning. In some cases, the updates are more or less predictable. Other times, they hit us completely by surprise and we get the memo in the form of frantic emails from clients.

2018 was certainly a big year for Google algorithm updates. While many flew in under the radar and made little-to-no impact on the big picture, others forced us to throw out our trusty playbooks and start from scratch. That’s just the reality of SEO; never fall in love with your playbook, for it can become irrelevant in an instant.
