Tech Leaders Set to Reveal the next Great Opportunities at Bima Conference

More than any other industry, technology creates the future. So for those who create that tech the question must be; “what sort of future do we want to make?”.

Lessons from the Future is a new one-day conference from BIMA, the UK’s digital and tech trade body. The speaker line-up includes the innovators who are making voice more inclusive, making transport more sustainable, and making news less ‘fake’. The conference will also examine how tech is fighting malaria, revolutionising professional sports, and hear from thought leaders who are challenging humanity to take back control of ‘runaway tech’.

Keynotes include Microsoft UK’s Cindy Rose, Anita Sengupta co-founder of Airspace Experience Technologies, Max Amordeluso, lead evangelist for Amazon Alexa in Europe, Futurist and Tech Philosopher Nell, and a debate about technology’s role in solving the climate crisis led by Extinction Rebellion, Adjust Your Set and Project Everyone

Confirmed speakers so far:

Cindy Rose, Microsoft UK

Max Amordeluso, Amazon Alexa

Jamie Bartlett, Author & journalist

Gail Gallie, Project Everyone

Chris Gorell Barnes, Adjust Your Set and The Blue Marine Foundation

Paul Mason, Author & journalist

Richard Nockles, Sky VR

Keynotes: We’re seeing transformative shifts enabled by AI, VR, voice technologies and more. But the next big challenge for our industry will be as much about the ethical, moral and environmental implications of our technological evolution, as it will be about the next great technological leaps. From aerospace and urban air mobility, to democracy, to low carbon technologies, scientists, journalists, business leaders and futurists will share their vision for a future that is accessible, sustainable and fair.

Masterclasses:These practical sessions will take a deeper dive and share practical solutions by exploring how changing attitudes and expectations are influencing and affecting us and our work.

Awards: The BIMA Awards take place in the evening - the longest standing and most prestigious digital awards in the UK. The awards aim to support and encourage the work that is pushing the limits of what is possible, making a difference in business, culture and society. See the 2019 shortlist.
