Lending An Ear - The Best Marketing Podcasts

Podcasts offer a great way to brush up on the latest digital trends on the go. You can tune in while commuting, doing the dishes, or working out.

Marketers love to talk about marketing. And if you like to listen to it, then the podcasts below should offer great insight into polishing your social media marketing skills.

I’ve spoken with colleagues, friends, and checked marketing pros on the internet, to get their recommendations for the must-hear social media podcasts. These include niche, tactical podcasts, more general marketing shows, and peripheral digital and tech podcasts with substance for social marketers.

So, charge up your headphones, take a listen, and enjoy!

1. Casual Fridays Podcast with Tyler Anderson

The Casual Fridays Podcast is an interview-style podcast hosted by Tyler Anderson, the CEO of the Casual Friday’s agency. On the show, he discusses his personal experiences in social media marketing and gives you actionable tips and tricks for your own work.

2. Good Social Media Podcast with Todd Austin

Feeling a bit down? The Good Social Media Podcast has you covered. It features uplifting stories celebrating “how social media is helping us live richer more connected lives.” Tune in for digital marketing stats, interviews with thought leaders, and more.

3. Social Pros Podcast with Jay Baer and Adam Brown

On air since 2012, this podcast covers social trends, techniques, and more.

Hosts Jay Baer and Adam Brown chat with a leading social strategist each week. They also offer advice, discuss new tools, and debunk marketing myths.

4. Marketing Book Podcast with Douglas Burdett

Access wisdom from top social media marketing bookswithout ever turning a page. This podcast features interviews with best-selling authors, like Guy Kawasaki and Seth Godin. They share social media marketing advice, digital sales tips, and more.

5. Reply All by PJ Vogt and Alex Goldman

Reply All may not fall under the umbrella of “social media marketing podcasts.” But it’s one of the most useful ways to stay on top of digital trends. The podcast covers all aspects of internet culture, from GIFs to Amazon reviews.

6. Marketing Smarts with Kerry O’Shea Gorgone

Marketing Smarts is another top-rated podcast. Social media whiz Kerry O’Shea interviews a different marketing master each week. Each 30-minute episode is packed with information, tips, and ideas.

7. Masters of Scale with Reid Hoffman

Masters of Scale is a business and finance podcast hosted by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn. The show is created and owned by WaitWhat. In each episode, Hoffman introduces a theory on how successful businesses scale, and tests its validity by interviewing founders about their path to scale. Tune in for conversations with big-weights like Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg, and more.

8. Savvy Social Podcast with Andréa Jones

Each week, Andréa Jones looks at a new social media marketing technique. She interviews leading experts in the field. She also shares insights from her own experience as a social media strategist.

9. Social Zoom Factor with Pam Moore

With 100,000 downloads per month, Social Zoom Factor is one of the most popular marketing podcasts. The show is hosted by Pam Moore of Marketing Nutz, a company with clients like IBM and Adobe. Pam covers topics such as social media, experiential branding, digital marketing, and more.

10. Art of Paid Traffic with Rick Mulready

In The Art of Paid Traffic, Rick Mulready reveals the best-paid traffic tips, tactics, and strategies for generating leads and sales on autopilot for your business. Together with expert guests such as Massimo Chieruzzi, Founder & CEO of AdEspresso, Rick dives into Facebook ads, YouTube ads, Twitter ads, Google Adwords, retargeting, and more.

11. Marketing Over Coffee with John J. Wall and Christopher S. Penn

Casual and conversational, this show is recorded in a different cafe each week. The hosts offer social media knowledge about everything from SEO to Facebook advertising. They also answer listener questions and interview plenty of guests.

12. Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield

In her podcast, Amy Porterfield shares how to monetize your online marketing and blogging efforts using her own tested, actionable lead-generation strategies. Amy creates educational content on social media marketing, freelancing, and several other areas of online marketing and even shares free cheat sheets and guides so that you can follow along while listening to the podcast. 

13. Maximize Your Social with Neal Schaffer

Neal Schaffer, a top marketer, has hosted his Maximize Your Social podcast since 2013. He discusses different ways small and large businesses can use social media to improve all aspects of their businesses.

Even cooler, all of his podcasts are transcribed into blog posts on his website. So, if you forget your headphones on your Subway commute, give it a read instead!

14. Manly Pinterest Tips with Jeff Sieh

In this podcast mainly for everything about Pinterest, Jeff Sieh explores best practices, strategies, and demonstrations with several Power Pinners. Once in a while, Jeff will cover other social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram too.

15. DigitalMarketer Podcast with Garrett Holmes and Jenna Snavely

This show offers digital marketing hacks by marketers from all over the world. Build skills, gain new ideas, and get inspired! These real-life marketing stories are a fun way to brush up on social media best practices.

16. Social Media Marketing with Michael Stelzner

Mike Selzner is the founder and editor-in-chief at Social Media Examiner, one of the biggest social media blogs on the 'net. Each of the weekly sessions is hosted by Selzner and a guest co-host, and you're taken through 45 minutes of insights, interviews, and new marketing methods.
 

17. Social Media Marketing Talk Show

Social Media Marketing Talk is another Social Media Examiner podcast. The Talk Show is hosted by a different panel of Social Media marketers each week. This gives the show an awesome informal feel and gives you tons of diverse insights.

18. Hashtag Authentic with Sara Tasker

Instagram expert Sara Tasker wants to help you succeed in the online marketing space - however, she’s not going to tell you how to fit into an existing mold. Tasker’s podcast focuses on growth that's true to who you are and your aesthetic. Each week, Hashtag Authentic features interviews with influential creatives on topics less frequently touched on in other podcasts, like 'going raw' in IG Stories and how color psychology ties in with branding.

19. #AskGaryVee Show with Gary Vaynerchuk

For each episode of #AskGaryVee, Gary Vaynerchuk answers a question from his audience about marketing, social media, entrepreneurship, and startups based on his lifetime experience of building successful, multi-million dollar companies.
