5 Tips to Create and Optimise Your Brand New Business Website

Today, starting a new business also necessitates building a website. For new and small businesses, having a website means more customers can find you and become aware of your presence. Almost every conceivable industry today has its website because their customers tend to do online research about products, services and potential vendors.

Irrespective of direct or indirect selling of products or services online, websites are a means to increase credibility and confidence among the larger audience. Therefore, running a business without a web presence would no longer be a feasible proposition to sustain for you.

Moreover, if you have newly started your business, it is highly pertinent for you to not just have a website but to optimize it as well. That way, your chances of creating and developing new customer base will significantly increase.  You have to make sure that your potential customers would not just be able to find you through search but would learn about you.

Here are some important tips to create and optimize your business website:

  1. Determine your website’s purpose

First and foremost, decide what the primary purpose of your website is. What is it going to do for you? Whether your website is providing general information about your business or it is a platform for e-commerce or you want to post articles and useful information for your potential clients, the users should easily navigate throughout your website. So, it is an important step to know that what you are going to plan with your website. Second, you need to carefully decide your domain name because you have to share it with your clients and customers. It should be easy to remember and generate no confusion. Third, you will require a credible could hosting because you also need a server (dedicated or shared depending upon budget) to store all the data for public access. Fourth, a good website has multiple pages dedicated to various aspects of your business. So, you will need to build different pages, such as “About Us”, “Learn More”, “Sign Up”, “Contact Us”, so on.  

  1. Make a responsive web design

Responsive design of a website is its ability to react to different screen sizes of users’ devices, that is; its ability to adjust itself according to any screen size. Because of a significant surge in the usage of smartphones today, people are also using them to browse the internet, access social media, carry out online banking, as well as online shopping. Today, more than 50% of all the searches are taking place in mobile phones. So, your website needs to display mobile-friendly experience for your customers. Moreover, as per the latest recommendations of Google, websites need to have a responsive web-design. It is now using mobile-friendliness as a ranking factor in search results. In other words, Google is rewarding sites that are fully optimized for mobile platforms.

  1. Improve your page loading speed

The page loading speed is also officially included in the list of factors that enhance Google search ranking. You must have found it frustrating to see that you have to wait for too long before a web page loads. As the number of internet users is increasing, the slow loading of pages is further increased, which is interrupting user experience even more. Therefore, it is important for you to make your site as fast and accessible as possible. But how will you improve your website’s page loading speed? Here are a few things you can work on:

  1. Activate AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) on your web-pages, which is a Google project meant to boost speed.
  2. Use “HTTP2” – technology that brings much needed upgrades.
  3. Switch to PHP7 because moving to PFP7 will provide your WordPress site a necessary boost so that you will be able to improve your blog loading time.
  4. Focus on critical rendering path in order to keep the navigation path free from obstacles.
  1. Regularly post fresh content

Back in 1996, Bill Gates wrote an essay “Content is King” in which he quoted, “Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting.” It was true then and true even now. Today, the content that is fresh, relevant and informative is the one which ranks, gets traffic, converts and contributes toward creating a new customer base. Your website is a breathing entity and the fresh content allows an interaction among visitors, customers and search engines. The more frequently you will post blogs, articles and new web-pages on your website, the more frequently search engines will take a halt to visit your website. This frequent indexing will give your website a better opportunity to achieve higher rankings based on the fresh and relevant content you provide.

  1. Use effective calls to action

It is not enough to get your audience on your website. It is also important as to what you want them to do. If you have clearly marked an action word(s) that enable your users to get them what they want, it is an encouraging and reassuring gesture that they are on the right track. For example, “Download,” “Sign Up Now”, “Open an account,” “Go to checkout,” and “Get a quote” are calls to action because they are prompting users to do something. Therefore, you need to choose right words that could act as psychological triggers for your audience in order to take action. Remember, no emotional connection translates into no action at all.

Due to the growing importance of present digital landscape, your website should not just describe your business but should also reflect your credibility and worth. Therefore, it is important to build and optimize your business website more than ever. The above tips are among many important practices that help you achieve this.
