Meet the Influencer: John Horsley

The ultimate showdown that every marketer will be watching this year, is one between two industry heavyweight contenders. In one corner: broadcast marketing, the official champion of old-school content marketing. In the other corner: engagement marketing, the new kid on the block representing the new age of 21st century content marketing.

Right now, it’s looking like all the odds are in favour of engagement marketing coming out on top, and reigning supreme in 2018 and beyond. So it’s official, content marketing is changing. This shift is a battle that almost every marketer will have to contend with at some point this year. More and more of the country’s leading marketing firms are attracting customers to their brand by striking up two-way conversations using social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook or Messenger. Shifting to engagement marketing can be done, but marketers need to learn when to use this strategy and where is best to meet and converse with their customers.

If you are struggling to understand and integrate the engagement marketing concept into your content marketing strategies, then we at MTEX, along with our partner Digital Doughnut, are here to help you out! Digital Doughnut are all about bringing a digital community together through their use of content and networking; which is why they have their best players divulging their recipes for engagement marketing success at MTEX - the UK’s leading event bringing the world’s latest martech innovations, strategies and experts together under one roof!

And this time round, stepping up to represent Digital Doughnut in the fight for engagement marketing is none other than John Horsley, the platform’s very own founder!!

John is also the Founder of Digital Marketing - the third largest group on LinkedIn - and Co-Founder of both London Research and Demand Exchange. He has more than 17 years of digital marketing industry experience and has seen the industry grow from the early internet pioneers to today’s bustling marketplace.

John is highly influential in the world of marketing and regularly judges both marketing and technology awards. Both the British Interactive Media Association and Drum magazine have ranked John as one of the top 100 people in the UK’s digital Industry, while business magazine Fast Company listed John in their top 50 most influential people on the web. Now that’s what we call a champion marketer!

In his seminar, entitled Paying the Way Forward: Winning in Today’s Value Economy, you will discover why businesses that provide utility and additional value beyond the limitation of their products or services will win in the value economy.

Hear examples of how successful businesses have transitioned from broadcast to engagement, and why companies that don’t adapt and continue to shout for attention will be overtaken.

The 21st & 22nd March is only weeks away, and as the weeks go by we will be letting you know which other marketing legends will be stepping into the Digital Doughnut ring at MTEX. One of them might just be that coach you need, to help you reach the top of your game and triumph in the world of marketing
