Brand identity –What do you think about it? Is it really important to have one? What is it exactly? It is a simple word with lots of meaning. Nowadays businesses have different meaning and the way people pursuing it wants to know how successfully the strategies are working for them.

In the old days, people just wanted to receive good profit by just selling their products and services. But talking about now, people think more beyond than receiving profit, they want to earn name and fame to maintain their long-term relationship with clients and add new prospective clients to their network.

This is a 21st era in which internet is playing a big role as people are searching and verifying the products and goods before buying. Services those are available on the internet are something people trust. Your availability matters to your buyers. It’s up to you how strongly you are maintaining your presence. There is nothing bad in perceiving offline marketing for businesses, but you must have some aims for online marketing too.

Well, it’s all about brand identity. First, let’s have a look at what is brand identity.

What is Brand Identity?

Many people just consider brand identity with the logo only. Yes, the logo is an important part of brand identity. But brand identity is more than a logo, style guide, and typography. It’s the way to stay apart from all your competitors and used to influence your customers. It shows relevancy towards your services, brand and enhances your trustworthiness for clients.

Brand identity is all about the representation of your brand how it looks and communicates with its buyers and other elements. For our readers’ sake, we have tried to present some of the guidelines on how to create a great brand identity. Have a look at the following points –

  1. Research and analyze your brand strategy

Before performing further tasks, you must do everything which will come across your way. The personality of the, its history, the of working and target market should be studied deeply. Prepare written notes with stats and figures, so that it can be easily shown to your team members and aligned them to achieve their goals.

Based on your research data, draw your clear brand strategy. Your brand strategy must define your motives, you, and your customers need. Do some competitor analysis to get them and set your brand apart. Define your audience and aware your strategy.

  1. Know your target audience

It’s all about your customers what they want to see, what they want from you as a brand and what kind of engagement they would like to receive. This doesn’t imply that these people will just allow picking for them, brand’s values must be directed towards its audience persona.

There are three types of audiences –

  • Primary
  • Secondary
  • Tertiary

The primary audience is customers (existing or prospective), whereas secondary or tertiary audience is employees or other brands. The aim of creating a brand identity is to cover each kind of audience. You cannot neglect any of them, employees are your brand advocates as they have the power to represent your brand everywhere. It is so natural that wherever they go, they can talk about your brand and also put their offline marketing efforts. Their efforts can mirror inner face of your brand so, must read your audience closely. Take their views and gauge it.

  1. Design your visual identity and logo

By reaching this point, we can say that you have done the necessary and analysis such as understanding of audience, customer feedbacks, competitor analysis and your own goals and values. Now, you are almost half prepared with brand identity and the only work which left is to put up all the implementations.

Now translate this information into final visual implementation. Hire UI/UX designers to create your cogent visual identity. There are three things to consider here –

Brand name – you can hire an agency for and put your ideas in front of them, they can suggest you a list of names with punch lines. You can also do it yourself with the help of your team members.

Logo drafts – Logo is a design and visual face of the company. It will be used in products delivered by you such as emails, business cards etc.

Full Visual identity – color choice, typography, photography, icon and other key elements will be taken under this section.

  1. Maintain your branding

Experienced mobile app and web development companies and brand managers suggest that your brand must be maintained by providing effective actions timely. It is not about once you have done with logo and putting your identity in front of your audience. You have to maintain it for long-term and for that, you must unify your company’s goals regularly and organize events.

Events are highly beneficial to create an organization. Do present your brand to improve your brand reputation and show some advocacy. These events will help you in many ways like establishing new goals, grow your connections and you can stay motivated and compete yourself. You will be able to analyze clearly what is working in of your brand and what should be cut out. Your actions will be more refined if you are actively analyzing everything.

In a Nutshell

Brand identity is the of a brand. One can not overlook these things if he wants to make his brand reputation stronger. The main aspect is your audience which is your best asset to learn about your brand, groove your presence, and generate strategies for growth.

Be unique with your perspective and maintain consistency with it. Do not water down your strategies, just ensure the accuracy and go ahead. Try to know your abilities and your brand voice. There are various design elements like business cards, email templates, and brand style guide. You have to work out for each. After all, your brand will set you apart from the competitors. So nail the design and portray your brand in its identity.
