Infographic - Right Ways to Use Video on Social Media

The video content rules the social media, and for that reason, Social Video Marketing is rapidly becoming the most efficient way of promoting your brand and its services. Gaining recognition on the market can be hard and at times even painful process, so let's have a look at how you can use social networks to overcome these difficulties and conquer new markets with skillfully crafted promotional videos.

The emergence of Facebook in 2004 has changed the landscape of online business forever. In less than two decades, this social network has attracted 2 billion users, which makes it the largest marketplace on the Interent. Even though it is by far the biggest community on the Internet today, it isn't the only place where you can share and advertize promotional videos.

Social Media as an Advertising Tool

All the latest statistics show that video content is by far the most popular type of content on the Internet today. YouTube gets over 30 million visitors per day, while nearly 5 billion videos are watched on that same platform each day, which only proves that social media has become much more effective advertising tool than television.

Featuring ads, product videos, personalized videos or even tutorials on some of the most popular social networks may be a key to your company's success. 7 out of 10 people will view a brand in a more positive light after watching a video, and for that reason, distributing your promotional videos on social media can guarantee a better perception of your products by its potential buyers.

Furthermore, online videos will enable your potential clients to gather all the information about the services your company is offering and as the statistics show 40% of shoppers will visit the online store after watching a video. This more natural approach to advertising is probably better than aggressively distributed commercial messages we are used to seeing on TV.

Best Social Media Platforms for Video Content Promotion

The different kinds of videos are best suited for different social networks, because the content of a video may be perfectly suited for one network, but quite poorly for another. If you are thinking about using Facebook for video content promotion, then videos of panel discussions, events will be a perfect choice, while using this social network for short videos that only contain partial  information about your company may not be as effective.

Facebook is an excellent option for brands that want to reach new audiences through live or viral videos, but the posts on this social network have a limited lifespan, which reduces the prospects of attracting new customers with the same video content over an extended period of time. YouTube, on the other hand, is an excellent tool for brands that want to upload videos that will be available to the community of their subscribers over the years, but those companies that don't dedicate enough time to grow their community of YouTube subscribers will find that competition on this platform is fierce.

Companies that want to approach younger audiences will certainly benefit from posting their videos on Instagram, but the large fan base on Instagram doesn't necessarily mean that your company's website will receive the same kind of attention.

How Long Should Your Social Media Marketing Videos Be?

Each type of social marketing video has its perfect length, and platforms such Facebook or YouTube are a better fit for longer videos, while Instagram or Snapchat are a much more reliable option for short video content.

Facebook has a 20 minute limit for all video uploads, which makes it a perfect tool promotion through live videos, reviews, and interviews. Even though Facebook enables its users to upload videos that don't last just a few minutes, YouTube is a much better platform for businesses that want to upload content with longer duration, since the maximum length of a video on this platform is 11 hours.

Instagram limits all video content to just sixty seconds, while the longest duration of a video on  Snapchat is ten seconds, which makes these two social networks a perfect choice for simple promotional videos that briefly summarize the benefits of the products you are offering.
