Android vs. iOS: Smartphones, Which And Why
You’re in the market looking for a new smartphone. Here's the question, which smartphone OS should you invest your money in?
Let us narrow down your choices by comparing smartphone operating systems ( which is, of course, Android and iOS).
Affordability - Winner: Android
Apple never makes budget devices. Everyone knows that. The latest model of Apple is definitely the most expensive in the market. The latest iPhone 7 Plus is about $770 when it was launched. Their iPhone 6s launched last year was about $550. Now tell me, who says Apple phones are cheap?
On the other hand, Windows’ partner when it comes to hardware which is Nokia is known for their high quality yet affordable phones. Other smartphone brands such as Samsung, LG, Lenovo, and such are some of Windows’ business partners when it comes to hardware manufacturing. Aside from that, when it comes to accessories, Android also offers something around $150 lower compared to Apple’s.
Therefore, when it comes to affordability and variety, Android apparently gets the crown. You can still opt to spend a lot with Android, but the difference is, you can buy two phones for the same price of an Apple handset.
Apps - Winner: iOS
We asked some game and app developers and they told us that iOS’ platform is more profitable in contrast to what we thought (because we thought android is better). The main issue is that different Android manufacturers put their own interface on the devices that they are manufacturing which is hard for developers because they need to create a game or an app that would function in all interfaces. In addition, the best games would always be available to iOS first.
App Store Usefulness - Winner: iOS
There is no perfect app store. None are considered really user-friendly and we bet you’ve had the same experience. But according to charts and recommendations, the Apple App Store is still leading against Google Play Store. This is justified when it comes to recommendations for new apps and simpler interfaces. You may also pay for downloaded apps through Apple play and be granted the permission of downloading such apps through your fingerprint.
Takeaway
There are still other considerations why you would go with Android or iOS, but as we interviewed people, we found out that they love iOS more than Android because of its style, simplicity and security. With iOS, you will be ensured that updates are regular and timely on your smartphone. Nevertheless, it is evident that Android and iOS is more or less even when it comes to the title “Best Operating System Ever”. It’s just that, we believed that simplicity, data security and design is the most important features to consider and iOS leads in all these categories. Anyway, what’s most important is what you’re comfortable with and how the phone is beneficial for you.
