Internal Marketing is the Answer

Imagery of an organization with Marketing in the hub and all other divisions forming spokes is a basis for harmony and success. Standard Organization Charts impede progress.

It's not marketing to your target audience that is difficult - it's often the internal marketing necessary to obtain agreement among division executives that is the biggest hurdle.

Internal Marketing is the primary focus to allow an organization to move forward. Without this, the status quo remains as the limitation of what can be achieved.

To win against your competition, you must have united forces within. The reason consulting firms do so well, is they are brought in to be a referee in a game that unfortunately needs to be played. When egos are set aside and the intelligence (not only in the data) can be applied fully and cooperatively, the organization will flourish.

Truly helping those who benefit from the products or services of the organization must be the top desire of all participants. The flow of gathering and utilizing data and determining how each division will contribute to the success of the mission is what naturally follows.

For this to happen, senior executives will encourage the spark of ideas from any and all sources and the division executives and staff will sort them on merit rather than preferred sources.

It is the socialist side of human nature that creates the capitalist results. They are not enemies; they are allies.
