Netflix, Amazon, YouTube: TV Trifecta

All over the world TV Networks are trembling, ratings are collapsing and audiences are hooked on On Demand streaming remember when TV Networks were Kings? the kings are dead! Long live the Kings!

YouTube Prime seems to be ready to climb into the ring with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Movie and TV producers don’t want to confirm but cannot stop smiling either, it seems that finally agreements are signed and we will very soon be able to enjoy great movies and TV shows through YouTube Prime in HD for just $ 9.99

We have been following this story for many months now and finally it looks like Alphabet has found a way to monetise the biggest video site in the universe.

We know that being the first or the biggest does not guarantee anything specially not being the most profitable. Who would have thought that a little DVD rental through the internet company with a very complicated distribution system would be a TV production monster? all in a span of maybe 5 years?

TV networks are just watching ratings drop with nobody being able to stop them. Only 53% of the audience rely on TV to get informed, 18 on newspapers and 8% in magazines while 38% go to the internet for the News. The trend isn’t slowing down among people ranging between the ages of 15 and 20 almost all of them rely on Social Media to be informed.

In the meantime the battle for eyeballs is being fought among Netflix, Amazon and YouTube and none of the Giant Networks seem to be deciding on when to transform to enter the ring.

Apple TV will surely spring a surprise next year and let’s not forget about Hulu, Sparkle and a growing etc. We have in the tips of our hands the most amazing productions, the greatest actors, directors and writers giving us amazing programming like House of Cards, Game of Thrones and Gotham at any time and from anywhere in the world.

The winner in the battle between YouTube, Amazon, and Netflix is the audience.
