How To Keep Trolls Away From Your Website Traffic

Last week Twitter announced they would take more time to remove 'trolls' from their platform. Here are top tips so you can follow suit.

According to some books, trolls are big mythical creatures that have big noses, fangs and roughed-up skin. Some say that trolls are good in nature while some stories tell that trolls are ferocious and mean. However, the internet got its own definition of trolls.

Trolls of the internet are the meanest, most bothersome and most annoying internet users of the planet. They usually spam your website with awful comments, disgraceful images and horrifying statements that can easily ignite any commenter or viewer.

Usually, trolls are avoided by many website owners on the internet due to the fact that they can disrupt your website traffic. Most trolls can be tamed with the right strategy. However, you can’t simply tame all the trolls in the internet.

The worst case scenario? Your trolls could scare your viewers away, which is kind of bad when you are handling your own website.

As website owners, you need to limit the trolls in damaging your website. In this case, should you fear that you can’t do anything about it? Luckily, we have the right steps in treating these irritating trolls, put a stop on their annoying nature and get the right traffic up and running to your website, again.

Here are some easy steps on how to “stop” the trolls and limit their damage to your website.

Don’t feed them
One of the first few things that you should remember whenever you see an internet troll is not to mind them. Don’t “feed” the troll by talking back at them. Further arguments are what trolls love on the internet. As much possible, avoid them and ignore them. In this way, they would notice that their efforts will not be that worth it, causing them to back out.

Approach if needed, but do it with caution
Trolls know how to irritate anyone. You could get easily lose your targeted traffic with one or two comments coming from your trolls. If you think they caused too much trouble, you have to approach them, but with caution. Try to talk to them peacefully. Never talk to them in a harsh way.

Turn trolls into spam alerts
You are the one who controls your website, the ruler of the kingdom, the eye of the tiger, the epitome of everything, and you have the power to turn those trolls into invisible spams. Yep, you could just turn on the button and report them as spam.

Now, you can still get website traffic and avoid them without a trace. Trolls will always be there lurking on your website. No matter how hard you hide, there will always be someone who will post some delirious images or bashing comments that could ruin your website’s reputation. Battle them out with these tactics to ensure that your website traffic will be safe from those pesky, annoying and irritating trolls.
