SXSW 2013: Which artists are receiving the most Twitter mentions?

As SXSW 2013 draws to a close on Sunday, we take a look at the SXSW artists people are talking about the most on Twitter

By monitoring the Twitter Tracker chart developed by Musicmetric in partnership with Billboard, we are able to monitor the real time Twitter chatter generated for artists performing at this year’s SXSW.

The tracker works by collecting posts, @ mentions and follows of SXSW artists on Twitter, and then comparing the number of mentions to see who is getting the biggest share of the hype. The information is updated in real time.

The rankings are constantly changing, but artists who have consistently topped the tracker chart have included pop comeback kid Justin Timberlake and LA rapper Kendrick Lamar.

As more surprise acts are added to the line-up the ranking often fluctuates, as was the case with living legend Prince who has been making the odd appearance since the announcement of his impending performance was made.
