Countless messages are continually discarded into the black hole that is the spam folder. How many email marketing campaigns are simply sent into the abyss?

The majority of them.

Whether a novice or an expert that has spent years mastering the craft, email marketing is a difficult craft to perfect. In leu of a message jam packed with blue links and advertisements, some companies like Elance offer truly helpful content in their email marketing. The content included in these messages is not only often read, but also enjoyed by email list recipients.

Using Effective Content

Anyone who live in the online marketing sphere, and quite a few of those who don’t, have heard of the popular slogan ’content is king’. This phrase is often targeted more towards marketing through blogs, articles, and website content. Quality content that captures the attention of prospective customers can be just as effective in email as it is in blogs and webpages.

Some booming businesses have a fairly specific niche customer base, allowing for a content focus that is almost predetermined. Explaining how a product or service is to be used, a top ten list of advantages, even just a few ideas relating to the product is capable of keeping email out of the spam folder or trash bin. Creative, engaging content is powerful.

Creating engaging, powerful content is not always such an easy task. Small businesses that cannot afford to pay for consistent, powerful content can enjoy the benefits from just a few such emails. A minimal amount of quality content sprinkled into email marketing is capable of making a major difference.

Converting Content

Most businesses already have a blog or other avenue for attracting customers through quality content. Such content can easily be converted from article format into an email that is short, concise, and entertaining. Just a few paragraphs and a link to read more is all that is required to turn a blog article into an effective email marketing piece. Overly repeated and regurgitated content can, however, be a turn off to a dedicated reader base.

Some businesses even include an entire article, short though it may be, in the body of an email. Creating an email with such content does not mean that links and small advertisements cannot be included. Readers that are happy with the content they receive are likely to read more, even if it is more advertisement related content.

Stuffing an email with advertisements, links, and images can be tempting, but quality content is often the better choice. Create a truly effective email marketing campaign with material that people actually read. The results can be astounding.
