Since the 1990's Rik has worked in digital agencies and software engineering companies delivering digital solutions to private and public sector clients. Some went really well, some less well. Rik learned a lot from both. More recently Rik has been retained by clients in Higher Education and industry to help them with procurement and implementation of large digital projects. These have all gone very well.

  • Linking business strategies to IT and digital strategies
  • Procurement processes and the legal side
  • Invitation to Tender (ITT) preparation
  • Budgeting

Vendor selection

  • Single vendor or several?
  • Sourcing the right type of vendor

Project Control

  • Who manages the project - internally and externally?
  • Testing
  • Schools of Project Management, e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum
  • Gantt charts, site maps, wireframes, content manifests/matrixes and online collaborative tools

Disaster recovery

  • Avoid scapegoating
  • Identifying likely stumbling blocks, e.g. cost, time
  • Get the project back on track!
  • When to euthanise the project
