Michael Nutley, Director, Digital Doughnut
 

Michael Nutley is a freelance writer and consultant specialising in interactive mediaand marketing. He was formerly Editor In Chief of New Media Age, the UK's leading news publication forinteractive business. Since thenhe has continued to write about the sector for Marketing Week, Admonsters and CMO.com,while also acting as head of content and communities for Digital Doughnut.In addition he is a visiting lecturer in Futures & Innovations at the London College ofCommunications.

He has spoken or moderated sessions at AdTech London and CIM Eastern Region DigitalDay, and at events for Marketing Week, IAB Europe, the EIAA, Wired Sussex, ManchesterDigital and Norfolk Network, among others. He has appeared on Sky News, Channel 4News, CNBC, the BBC World Service and Radio 5 Live. And he has judged the Big Chipawards, the Mobile Marketing Awards, the Sports Business Awards, the BIMA Awards, theSouth West Media and Innovation Awards and the Wired Sussex Digital Marketing Awards.

Earlier this year he was one of the 50 people shortlisted for BIMA's Digital Hall of Fame.

Michael Bayler, Strategy Director, Sapient Nitro

Mike is a senior consultant and published author, specialising in innovation in marketing and media.

He has advised many of the world's leading brands, media companies and international stars, including Nokia, Diageo, Telefonica, FremantleMedia, Bacardi Global Brands, Warner Bros., The Digital Entertainment Group, BSkyB, BT, Sony Music, SABMiller, Ogilvy & Mather, Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell.

Mike is the co-author of the seminal work on consumer-led business strategy, Promiscuous Customers: Invisible Brands – Delivering Value in Digital Markets (Capstone, Oxford, 2002), and has written regularly for publications as diverse as Market Leader, The Wall Street Journal, Billboard Magazine, Design Week, The Design Management Journal and Bayler On The Future for New Media Age. His latest book, Otherwise Engaged: Branding in a Connected Culture, was released early in 2011. His blog, The Strategy Review, covers current and future marketing and strategy issues. Mike is a popular and exciting speaker on current issues such as post- Internet brand strategy, consumer culture, digital marketing, and branded entertainment. Among many successful speaking engagements, he has delivered brand and entertainment strategy master classes at MIDEM, AdTech, The Marketing Society and the IESE Business School in Barcelona.

After a successful international career in music, including 7 years in the US, Mike was an early entrant into digital media in 1992, and worked in interactive publishing and branding, e-business strategy and management.

Since 2002 and the publication of Promiscuous Customers, he has specialised in consumer-led marketing and innovation, working most recently with global sector leaders such as O2, Nokia, Diageo, FremantleMedia and Warner Bros. on “post-Internet” marketing and advertising, social media, mobile applications and branded entertainment.


Tony Moretta –Director Weve

Tony Moretta, has a broad background in the financial services, online and broadcast industries. He began work on an embryonic m-commerce business at the beginning of 2011 and brokered the negotiation between the three mobile network operators of EE, Telefonica UK (O2) and Vodafone to form the joint venture that become Project Oscar. Tony subsequently led the joint venture through the EC clearance process and is now responsible for business development and marketing initiatives at Weve.

Tony brings a wealth of experience both in the financial and broadcast industries to the ambitions that Weve has as a company. He led the development of the Mondex smartcard system in the UK and also its competitor Visa Cash, as VP of New Products at Visa International. His experience in introducing new technologies and concepts includes the first interactive TV ad as Director of Interactivity at ONdigital and as Director of Freeview and CEO of the Digital Radio Development Bureau, ensuring a path to digital switchover in radio as well as TV.

   


Alison Reay –Launch Commercial Director, Weve

In her role as Launch Commercial Director, Alison Reay's focus is introducing Weve into the media community and developing long term commercial partnerships with brands and merchants across a host of media marketing and commerce propositions. Alison is an expert in the media space, with extensive commercial media experience gained through senior roles in a number of major UK and global digital and media companies.
Prior to joining the Weve team, Alison's most recent role was as General Manager for Luxup, a new digital ecommerce business focused on the luxury fashion market. Before joining Luxup Alison was Digital and Multi-Media Director for the Telegraph Media Group where her role was to ensure all digital/video and cross platform commercial opportunities were maximised across all Telegraph assets and to build long term partnerships with brands and agencies in preparation for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.

   

Nigel Walley, Managing Director, Decipher

 

Nigel is Managing Director of Decipher the media strategy consultancy, and Chairman of the Decipher Group of companies, which includes iBurbia Studios, the interactive media research lab. Founded in 1998, Decipher works with large advertisers and with media companies to understand the commercial implications of new consumer technologies

 

Nigel is a marketer at heart, but with an intuitive sense of the potential of digital technologies. His particular focus is the evolution of commercial advertising models in media markets affected by the advent of new consumer technology.

Founded in 1998, Decipher has worked on interactive media and technology projects for a wide range of clients including Virgin Media, ITV, the BBC, Sky, UKTV, Channel 4, Sony, Viacom, and the UK Govt. Since 2002 Decipher has pioneered research into the impact of PVRs and VOD on the TV advertising markets. Decipher are currently working with ITV on defining future formats for television advertising.

Previously Marketing Director of the Internet Division of NTL, he holds an MBA from Cornell University in the USA. He is widely published in trade and national press and has appeared on BBC Business Breakfast, The Money Programme and Bloomberg TV commenting on digital issues. He is a regular speaker at conferences organised by the UK trade body for TV advertising, Thinkbox.
