The Perfect Social Media Posts

When posting on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and so on you have to make sure that you are not just posting links.

When posting on social sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and so on you have to make sure that you are not just posting links.

If you want to engage with people and drive traffic to your website content you have to optimize and craft your posts really well.

Here are some optimization pointers that you could follow in order to create clickable, likeable and shareable posts:

Blog Posts

Engage with titles – The title should grab people by the eyeballs. This is the first thing people see and actually read. Include important keywords at the start of the headline and make sure it is under 70 characters.

Opening paragraph – this is where you need to grab your readers’ attention. Use wisely your keywords there and draw the attention of readers by giving them the feel for what they should expect from reading the whole story.

Imagery – adding images and graphics to your blog post is like adding spices to your meal. It will make your post more engaging and likeable.

Words – the good post is somewhere between 500 and 800 words. This is just about enough to get your message across and make a point and it isn’t like too long that you lose the attention of your readers.

CTAs – Call to Actions are a summary of the post within a several words phrase. You can use them to summarize the post and to redirect people to another article that they might find enjoyable or interesting. Another thing you could do is ask them a question they have to reply to in the comments.

Link love – use links in the article to send readers to your past articles or list previous posts that are relevant to your article that viewers might enjoy.

Social love – add social media buttons and icons so that people can promote your stuff and give them some more social love.

LinkedIn

Status – when posting a status you have to make sure it is informative, relevant and up to date. Do not use a lot of characters, keep it short and thought provoking in order to engage more people.

Link love – when you add a link to your update you get to generate more traffic towards your articles.

Description – do not always use the description that gets pulled from your article. Make sure you edit it so that it displays short and concise messages that will draw the attention of users.

Comments – don’t just collect comments, you have to engage in the conversation and respond to your audience in order to build a strong relationship. You have to ask questions, answer others, give pointers and promote the discussion even further.

Analysis – this is a key point as it gives you an idea of what your target audience is like and it will help you tailor your posts the way they like them.
