5 Content Curation Tools To Bolster Your Business

When all you want to do is keep it simple and to the point

Blogs and new content for the web is created every minute. Videos are in the millions. Where a great deal of the content is aimed at personal experience and information, a great deal of consumer information is also being shared.

In today’s marketing and commerce society, it is becoming rather difficult to find creditable information to post to our blogs, websites, and social media. True, a person could make original content, but the fact remains that the demand will always outweigh what we can supply. It is therefore paramount that content is curated effectively. Here are five such tools that help with curation.

Listly

Listly presents the user with the ability to make “lists” to direct traffic. These lists can be on any number of topics from “the 10 most traveled streets in London” to “the 5 best SEO techniques “. Once you have established your list other viewers can comment, share, relist, like, or dislike your links.

If you are looking to curate your content then you would, naturally, want to put your content link at the top of the list. If you offer a series of services you could make a list called “the top 5 SEO tools offered by (your company)”.

Pinterest

Do you have content that you want to share with the world? The odds are that you can quickly get your material noticed with Pinterest. The platform uses a series of boards which are divided into categories. These categories are delivered to other users based upon their interests.

What makes Pinterest a powerhouse curation tool is that it integrates with almost every social media site you can think of. You can also integrate certain “posts” directly into your website. Users who have Pinterest can quickly find your content, but at the same time they can view other information that pertains to their interests.

Swayy.co

If you want to have content that is catered to your keywords and interests (which most businesses do) then Swayy is a great tool to gather information to present. The platform uses keywords, profile analysis, and interest groups to compile a list of sources which may fit best into your social media presence.

When you first access sway, you will be asked to connect using twitter or facebook. You can access swayy’s application on google chrome, but to get into the program you will need one of the two accounts. On the free account you are allowed one board. Of course, if you want more options you can always buy more.

Scoop it

Scoop it works as a media sharing curation tool. Content can be embedded directly into your site if you opt for the business monthly subscription. However, if you chose to use the free version you can still benefit from the features. By adding keywords to a particular topic, you can see which video sources are the most popular for your site. If you have the spare time, you can then find the video on an open source platform (such as YouTube) and link directly to the content.

Scoop also allows you to link content directly to your twitter, facebook, or linked in account. If you have a large following on any of the social media platforms, it is a great way to keep your viewers engaged in your business.

Diigo

Diigo provides a curation tool for gaining creditable content to post to your site. If you do not have the time to go through and write original content every day on a subject, Diigo may be the solution that you need. The annotation tools help to build a personal library of information based upon the information that you need.

The feedback and comments which you post are archived to better help with the curation process. You can share whatever information you find useful but do not get automated posts. This alleviates the guess work in what material is being curated to your social media.

These are but a few curation tools which have proven to be effective to both individuals and businesses. Most of these products are free for personal use but do require a paid subscription if used for professional use. However, most of the professional services come with a free trial so that your business can become familiar with all of the features and determine if the curation tool will work for your social marketing needs prior to committing to a subscription.

Your social media and curation of content is essential to the engagement that clients, employees, and just random visitors have with your business. By utilizing effective curation tools you can be assured that the most relevant, non-competitive content is presented.

Utilising content curation tools correctly can help take your business forward.
