3 Unavoidable Social Media Bumps

Social media, it's one heck of a roller coaster ride if you're an online marketer.

If you are a true blue website marketer, then it wouldn’t be that “unknown” for you to try out social media strategies to gather more traffic to your site.

We all know that social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and LinkedIn are good sources of high convertible traffic. Since a lot of internet users gather in social media sites, some online marketers make use of this to their business. Others also regard their social media traffic as their biggest asset on their business. We all know that social media is full of surprises. Your social media is like a circus. It is full of unprecedented and unexpected surprises.

Sometimes, your social media mass will agree with your business and sometimes, it won’t. You’ll probably get some praises and compliments from those loyal brand customers while sometimes, critics, trolls and negative feedbacks will eat your brand alive. This is the reason why social media is one hard nut to crack. But once you crack that nut, you’ll get more conversions, more sales, more profits, and eventually, more guaranteed viewers.

Here are 3 unavoidable social media bumps that you need to expect when you handle social media sites with your business.

1. Very Personal Critics That Can Make You Cry
As marketers, we are built and trained to endure even the harshest words and critics that your viewers, readers and followers will throw. We think that we shouldn’t be emotional when it comes to your website traffic’s words. But dear John, we are still human beings. We have feelings and we get hurt. The best thing that you can do about it is to let your emotions out, cry and cry until you want, but don’t let it affect your decisions and actions. Emotion-filled knowledge usually concludes poor results, so it is advisable to let it out.

2. (Sudden) Inactivity
It would be a nightmare if you suddenly find your super active social media account to be inactive… for a long time. Also, it is considered as a “heart attack” moment when your newly born social media account is just beginning its way towards success, not having any engagement or activity at all. When this happened to you, will you be able to endure it? The best step to take when this happens is that you initiate activity. No matter what results you get from initiation, continue doing it. Also, it is best to let your real traffic in other media platforms know what is happening to your social media site.

3. Regret Posting
Have you posted something that you regretted at the end? A content with inaccurate information, a poor offensive joke that everyone doesn’t find it funny or wrongly posting personal posts in your brand post? That’s what we call regret posting. The best thing to do about this is to quickly erase your “accident post” and immediately post an apology about it. This will not only stop the damage from worsening, but it is also “ethical” in some way.

Social media is one of the best sources of guaranteed traffic in online marketing. You just have to identify how to deal with its problems in the future. It’s either you get affected and suffer from the rest of your business career, or you can fix it, move on, and flourish more with your marketing success.
